Recommendations for a switch/hub

I’m looking to connect my television/sky box/raspberry pi/gaming console… wired to my router using power line adapters and so I believe I need to purchase a switch rather than a hub?

I currently don’t have fibre but I want to futureproof myself for at least the next couple of years. My current broadband speed is 3.3-7.7Mbps.

In terms of brands, are there any I should avoid?

In terms of speed, I take it 10/100/1000 Mbps would be sufficient?

I’m currently considering this - NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Ethernet Desktop/Wallmount Switch :S

Anything else I should consider?

In this day and age it’s very difficult to buy a bad unmanaged switch new, the price difference between 10/100 and 10/100/1000 is minimal, it’s not worth compromising, all your devices will be WAN (your broadband connection) limited anyway. Don’t forget to buy patch leads :)

Ethernet cables?
