A little bit dull I know but with the imminent arrival of our first child next month I've been advised to get a mat to go under the ISOfix base to protect the leather and to stop the base sliding around. So, does anyone have any recommendations based on their own experiences? Thanks.

I would say something like a drawer mat or a camping mat - something anti-slip. However, Is it installed correctly? - My base doesn't slide at all when it's clicked in (with leather seats)

As above, there's something wrong if it's sliding about in my experience. I would go for a mat just to spread any pressure from the base and stop it from digging into the leather.

I got a halfords mat, but to be honest you're only delaying the inevitable. Child seats and leather are never going to be a great match.

I purchased a "sunshine kids ultra mat car seat protector pad" it's fantastic, has a gel like padding to stop the seat from sliding, and leaves no indentations in the leather.

I haven't installed the base and seat yet, I'm only going on what I've been told in the shop, that it might move around on the leather.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen the Sunshine Kids one mentioned in numerous places and think I might opt for that one.

They dont slip around i have one in the back of my Mondeo on leather. Definatly recomend laying something down, first time i installed it without, took it out and the leather had the isofix base engraved into it...did come out after a few months! i just double up a nice thick towel and lay it under now, seems to work.

My isofix baby seat doesn't even touch the seat, it has a leg that extends down into the footwell. It's very solidly wodged in there before someone says I've done it wrong...

Wait, what ? how on earth can you have an isofix base not touching your actual seat? What make/model is it ? all have a leg (well all the ones we looked at), but the leg is there as an additional support (weight shifting forwarding in the event of a sudden stop). The only thing im picturing here is you have your leg extended way too much and so the base is aimed up?...thats wrong - if you had a massive sudden stop the leg would slip or break and the baby seat would slam down.
