ASUS ROG STRIX B560-F GAM WIFI
2x16G CorsVengLPX DDR4 3000C16
INTEL i9-11900K

The CPU does have water cooling.

Motherboards that allow me to overclock this CPU must have come down in price now to make it affordable to overclock my CPU.

Can I please have some recommendations for motherboards that will allow overclocking of this CPU?
I am willing to upgrade the ram too.

Can you please elaborate on how it could make performance worse?

there is no real headroom in the CPU's clock and heat wise.
intel did a good job with 11th gen

when trying to push my 11700kf in any was gaming performance dropped.
CB r23 scores would get better so if you do that all day your onto a winner, but in the real world i found it to be worse.

i could get 5.2Ghz single and 4.8Ghz all core.. .200Mhz is pointless

you would benefit more from undervolting, letting it boost higher for longer

I rarely, if ever, do any gaming.

what do you do?
what cooler and what temp do you see?
I mainly use it for number crunching. Finding encryption keys in satellite feeds.
Not unusual for my PC to be running for 48 hrs plus whilst doing searches.

My cooler is - Corsair Hydro H100x.

No idea really what sort of temps I get as I have never had any problems so have not felt the need to monitor them.
I appreciate that of overclocking, that is a must. My three previous PCs were overclocked without any issues.

In your use case would it been stable not be more important than a few extra mhz.

If you want to go for it do it. But new your looking £250+ or even £350+ as the cheaper boards are all out of stock. Ocuk as one for £400 and one for £700.

If you go used. TBF any z590 will do fine.
I got a good board from Bgrade for 120

there is 2 in Bgrade now, ive found when making offers you can get about 20% off the listed price

Hi,

Looking to get a deal and save some pennies then why not check out the clearance section on our website or just click here.

As part of a forum deal I'm looking to follow Nik and open up my b-grade sections to offers. A lot of prices are reduced heavily already so if I can't match the offer I will counter.

This will continue to run until I close the thread.

Couple of rules:
  • Make reasonable offers. People making silly offers will be blocked.
  • Make an offer, don't ask what I will take for it. It's a silent auction.
  • I don't know what condition an item is in so don't ask. (Generally they are all open box)
  • You have your standard right to return unwanted within 2 weeks.
  • If you receive the item and it is faulty we'll collect from you.
  • Include your forum name on your email please.

Please send your offers to my trust account or [email protected].

I made an offer on a MB two days ago, but no reply yet, so I assume the offer wasn't good enough. :(
