I'm after a set of headphones for my son who has a gaming pc and an xbox series s. They're in different rooms on the house, so I'm looking for a system that can switch between the two with minimal effort.
I really love steelseries headsets, but the house is a literal graveyard to them at the moment - the mics on the mid to low range models die all too quickly. I must have about 6 or 7 different pairs in permanent storage (it's often nearly as cost effective to get a new set when the mic goes as it is to replace just that part).
I've been looking at the Stealth 700 Gen3's too, which look like the perfect fit with the dual dongles. However, it looks like there's a load of problems with those dongles according to reddit.
Ideally I'd like a decent set that can have two dongles and seamlessly switch between them. I'm not worried about simultaneous use. If that's not possible, then a pair than can do wireless on the PC, and use the 3.5mm jack on his xbox / xbox controller. I would still consider steelseries, but I'm sick of the graveyard in all honesty. I would have thought that by this point that there would be an overwhelming amount of headsets designed for ease of use across different systems... shocking that there isn't much choice.
I'm certain folk here have had this dilemma too. What are my options?
