I have to get some new monitors for the office, for two new PCs. We need a mixture of 'basic' office work monitors and larger displays with better colour profiles for design work.

Can anyone break down any recommendations? A lot of what is in this forum is all about gaming, which is understandable haha.

If your office's budget will support it, Dell are fantastic professional displays. Excellent colour accuracy, and a premium panel guarantee that'll give you a next-day on-site swap out, even for problems as small (and annoying) as one stuck pixel :)

I've had a 24" Dell at home for 8 years and it's still as-new, and they're all I buy for workplace now. Good investment for long-term use, IMHO.

Thanks, the Dells do seem to quick well regarded. Does that support even come if I go through OC?

I'm leaning toward 24" 1080p TN for the regular monitor and maybe 27" 1440p IPS (or maybe 4k?) for the design display. This makes some sort of sense?

I'm not sure what your budget is, but IMO larger desktops can be an increase to productivity.

I'd look at 27in 1440p TN panel based for your general machines and 27in or greater IPS panels for the image work. Gaming monitors are expensive because of high refresh rates or additional features like GSYNC which are not required here.

Edit: having said all that the price difference between 24in and 27 is still large if you go down the Dell route.

Dell would be my first port of call for design work - while I'm not recommending this monitor as suited to your use my Dell u2913wm is fantastic (I would however recommend a 1440p version of it though not sure off the top of my head which that would be).

For regular office stuff a Samsung or LG, etc. 1080p TN would be fine.

I've recently bought 2 x Dell 27" U27H15 screens (2560x1440). They are very very nice.
I also bought 4 x BenQ 27" GW2765 (2560x1440), over £100 cheaper than the Dell.
All the above are IPS panels.
For normal office monitors i buy Acer 24" V246HL bid (1080p). They're ok, but they are probably better ones about as sometimes text looks a but fuzzy.

^^ Yeah wouldn't recommend Acer really their budget monitors always seem to look a bit warm and slightly soft focus - there are a fair few cheaper ones that aren't terrible though.

Well, I wouldn't be worried about colour temps for a budget office monitor personally. I've kind of had to stick with these so that office looks all uniform, otherwise j may have looked at different models. Nice clean slim bezel though.
