Hi,

A couple of days in to the Steam sale and nothing much leaping out at me just yet, so I thought I'd try something on GoG. The following have caught my eye, I'd appreciate your opinions and experiences if you have played any of them. :)

I'm a wanna be RPG lover, but invariably most don't do it for me, but for the sake of a few quid I think it's worth a punt. I've also included one or two FPS titles as well.

Arcanum
Kingpin
Blood
Duke Nukem : Atomic Edition (I have played this, or bits of it, yonks ago. The fan mods are a tempter).
Castles

...there are so many more tbh, Planescape, Fallout, Neverwinter Nights, Gothic, Sanitarium etc. It's a shame Wizardry8 isn't there, that was another that looks worth considering.

The first three on my list are tempting me the most atm. I shan't mod anything to start with, though undoubtedly will at a later date.

Cheers. :)

I've been tempted to pick up Kingpin again myself. It has an amazing original Cypress Hill soundtrack that really fits the mood. Amusing game. At first it feels like an extremely linear shooter, which it basically is, but there are pseudo-RPG elements because you get to hire henchmen to follow you around and help out in fights.

But if you're thinking of buying stuff from GoG, you should be thinking about Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos. It's only the finest space sim ever made, that's all! ;)

Thanks for the replies so far fellas. :) I tend to watch a chaps reviews on youtube, and today he reviewed Kingpin, which got me thinking about the games I have missed thus far. They don't have to be the latest dx11 titles to woo me.

I forgot to mention that I already have The Witcher, a good game, though it took me a few attempts for it to grow on me.

Divinity = AWESOME
Spellforce 2 = Very good
Age Of Wonders 2 = HOMM Clone, but high quality
DarkStar One = Good Space RPG

Castles is very very old but it's one of my all time fav games, it's awesome building a castle in your own way then placing archers and soldiers. For the onslaught :D

Arcanum is good, though i never really got very far on it and the game didn't sit well with me on my large screen. Needs a widescreen mod!

Blood, Great fun :p... FPS + GORE = WIN

Sanitarium = Horror Adventure, best of it's genre and a great story too
