The time has come for a new PC... Mainly to play games. What is considered better gaming hardware?

A:
AMD Phenom 9850 Black Ed 2.5ghz
DFI Lanparty DK 790FX
Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB
EVGA 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3

or

B:
Intel Q9450 Quad Yorkfield 12MB L2 95W 2.66ghz
Asus Asus P5K LGA775
Corsair Dominator DDR2 1066 4gig
EVGA EVGA 8800GTS 640MB GDDR3

Case, HD, P/Supply will be
Western Digital Caviar SE16 640GB
OCZ StealthXStrean 500w Silent ATX2 Power Supply
Antec Three Hundred Black

I'd be happy to hear alternative recommendations.

Thanks

no one,

E8400
X38 mobo ( future crossfire possibility)
PC 6400 C4 memory 4gb
ATI 4850/4870.

If you are 100% sure you don't want to crossfire ever, then get P45 mobo and 4870.

If you do some graphic/editing/rendering work you could swap e8400 for Q6600.
Don't forget to grab tunic tower on your way and a tube of MX-2.

thx, so for gaming you think the E8400 is better than the phenom 9450?

personally I would grab a 2180 clock it to 3.2 ghz and the cheapest board that supports it cheapest 6400 ram and a radeon 4850/4870 simply because Nahalem is out in december whole new chipset and cpu not to mention ddr3.
A duo at 3.2 ghz and 4850/4870 +2gb ram will eat any game alive apart from crysis
