I'm looking for a new exhaust for my CBR600 FS1. It's currently got the stock exhaust fitted and it sounds very dull and dreary. Not really that exciting going through the rev range. I love the sound of a proper sports bike and this being my first bike, it sounds more like a mobility scooter... OK I'm exaggerating.

I'd ideally like to pick up a second hand one.

Not sure on budget, I'm open to suggestions. Appropriate for the bikes age however.

Picture of current exhaust and bike if this helps?

I got a Beowulf with linkpipe for £155 new for my RR, sounds rather sexual and for the price you can't really go wrong.

arrow are a nice sounding can, expensive though, older ones are the art race cans but not sure if they still make those, they sound great

You have the F Sport looks like, the F4i of my baby... this one came on mine, it's a Devil and SOUNDS EPIC... believe me...

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'm not clued up on the mechanics. So do I just need the can or the full whack, pipes under the bike etc?

What's the advantages to both? I just want the sound basically.

Pugheaven, that looks a bit big for me personally, same size as mine or near enough. Looking for something smaller. Mines is just ridiculously huge and obtrusive, wouldn't mind if it sounded nice.

I had a look on ebay and there wasn't a great selection of used exhausts. Most were damaged.

Have a look here if you want a cheap but new option they may not look as nice (depends on bike really) as some of the more expensive ones but they do the trick from what iv seen of them.

Quite like this and it's very cheap. I like how you can just pull the baffle out with pliers. Makes it sound soo much better! More like the sound I'm after.

I presume I can't do that with my exhaust?

It'll connect to the existing piping from the downpipes, you'll literally slot on in the other and then clamp shut, use some exhaust sealent to fill any gaps, as the cheaper ones never seem to join quite as well. I know there's a Chinese firm on ebay selling carbon ones smaller than my devil for £99 notes... look and sound very very nice... will post link when I get in.

That does sound good. The lack of warranty and that guys comments on youtube about it not fitting well and clamps snapping etc put me right off. The FUEL exhaust is UK based and comes with a lifetime warranty. Well worth an extra 40-50 quid over that IMO.

If there's something similar to the FUEL, I'd like to see it.

So far for the cash and the removable baffle, lifetime warranty and built in the UK. It sounds pretty appealing.

Anyone else got a FUEL exhaust?

Yeah coolio, wasn't sure on budget and once fitted, do look and sound great... but yeah, who knows how long it'll last lol.

never heard of FUEL tbh...

Just replacing the end can is more to do with looks n sound you generally don't get much if any extra power. Replacing the whole system can make a hell of a difference though

And here I am.

I have a CBR600 but the FY model.

Exhaust brands I have looked at are MTC, Fuel, Beowulf, Simmi Performance, Xtreme Stainless, Pipewerx and Hawk.

All UK based companies from what I can gather and all in the £120-£300 price range depending on the style you get.

Should be getting one in May/June.
