Hi guys, just a quick question, im in the middle of getting a list together for my new build. I was going to spend 600 ish for an upgrade but ive decided to change the case firstly now. I have the antec 1200 and its far too loud, also have 2 gtx 460's and they are far too noisy. Can you guys recommend a case thats massive like the 1200 and has good cable management where the wires can go inside the back of the case, but at the same time has great cooling and looks smart. Cooling and cable management are the most important thing and of course quietness. As for the 2 460's i might just change the coolers on them to aftermarket coolers or maybe i might get a new card.

I am currently only using a p55 motherboard with an i7 860 @4ghz. So that will have to get upgraded also. Im also going to add a H70 / H80, corsair hx 850 modular psu. I have memory that is fine for the new board. So looking like its gonna be an expensive upgrade this time round :(

Any advice on the case / cards would be fantastic guys. Cant cope with the noise anymore.

Why not get a fan controller? That would cost around £40 max and it can help make your fans run silently whilst still cooling everything reasonably.

Have you considered liquid cooling your whole loop? It'll cost around £400 for the whole thing including dual graphics cards.

fractal design define xl is cheap and has great specs i think and maybe add some noise dampening foam if you really want to go all out.
here's a quick video review of the case www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUZbDiwXYJo

As for the 2 460's just change the coolers on them to aftermarket coolers like you said if your up to it.

And honestly i wouldn't bother changing anything else your system should be fine maybe use the money to get an ssd and some other bits and bats.

Thanks for the replys guys, the hafx case does look like what I'm looking for, if I was to go the aftermarket cooler route , is there any on ocuk that are suitable for my cards?. I've put after market coolers on one time before on my old 8800 gtx cards, and I remember I got the coolers and all pads and needed stuff together , is that still the case when you purchase now? And as for a fully water cooled system, I'd love to do it , but I wouldn't know where to start going down that route. Would it mean I need to change some hardware? If so can you please tell me what I would need. Really appreciate your help guys.

Edit. A fan controller i don't think would help much. The case already has 3 settings low, medium and high. I have to keep it on high as the system is overclocked. If i don't go the fully watercooled option a h80 and aftermarket coolers on my cards would mean i could lower that fan speed, and then maybe it wouldnt be so bad.

Thanks Jason ill take a look at them too. As I say though if there's aftermarket coolers I can get off ocuk for my cards I might keep the 1200 and add a h80 also. Then keep the case fans on low, or maybe change the case fans.

The problem with the GTX460 is the mounting holes are different across various card makers, I just had a google and seen this issue pop up.

Oh right I didn't know that mate, I have the evga 1gb external exhaust versions. Do ocuk sell any coolers that might fit? I could ask over at evga is the coolers you have will work.

Its ok ive found some Icy vision V2 that fit these cards.
