Following on from my thread about imaging a number of laptops:

Can any of you recommend a new make/model of laptop around these specs:

1gb RAM
Core 2 Duo
80gb HDD
Wireless b/g

And RELIABLE. :)

I've looked in to Dell - too expensive compared to other companies and only offered £10 discount per laptop buying 30 laptops compared to one! Rubbish.

A certain model Acer laptop currenly offers £100 cashback, they have all the specs but a review of it in this month's PC Pro didnt do it any favours compared to the others they test. Acers though - i think they're pretty good.

Any suggestions?

I would personally stick to Dell for laptops, Acer are good too but they bloat thier hard disks with rubbish.

You didn't give a budget.

There is one here for near £700

That's about all though and it's an Asus, you might have a better choice over on eBay. Also what's it being used for movies, games, office work?

Plus you posted this in "Overclockers UK Forums > Hardware > Networks & Internet Connectivity" you would get a better response in the correct forum.

Yeah, oops, forgot to change forum.

Budget is £300-450, we've got to buy quite a lot. I'm thinking that you get what you pay for and may try to push to get the budget upped a little to say 500-600 - they've got to last three to four years so its probably worth paying a little extra.
