Hi everyone
I've installed Ubuntu before, but apart from that I'm a complete Linux noob!
I have a PC which I'm wanting to use purely for watching films etc., on.
The films / TV programmes will be taken from DVDs and recoded into an efficient MKV/MP4 file type and then put onto a large HDD in the system.
Basically I was wondering what would be the best way of running the system on a TV so it's switched on, straight into the viewing program, away you go.
I've seen screenshots before now showing programs that categorise and add artwork etc., so you can browse through a virtual library and select the film you want but I don't know if I need a specific distro for that or if it will just work through Ubuntu?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks very much.
