Anyone care to recommend any current RPGs that aren't subscription-based? I refuse to play any subscription-based RPGs, partly because Im tight
but mainly because I disagree with paying £40 for a piece of software and then £10/month for the privilege of being able to use that software.

Guildwars also looks pretty impressive (or at least the graphics look quite nice) although that shouldnt really matter seeing as I used to while away the hours MUDding via a telnet session
