Looking to get my lad a replacement power supply, he has had one of mine on loan for an age now and its simply overkill at 1000w. As we are cleaning out his PC case and dusting out the radiator etc next week and changing his SSD's I thought it worth looking at PSU's.
His system is old but functional.
Intel 4770K
Gigabyte Z97 SOC
16gb (2x8gb) DDR3 2400 (He may end up with 4x8gb)
Powercolor R570 8gb GPU
CoolerMaster Neptun 240M cooler
2x SSD
2x HDD
Asus AC68 Network Card
NZXT S340 case in white with two extra fans and an RBB controler on Molex running a RGB 30cm strip.
Would 550w to 650w cover that, preferably gold or platinum, and quiet. Modular is a definitive bonus. I have been our of the loop since Haswell came out so no idea what are regarding as go to brands with reliability and good warranties these days.
