Hey all, I'm currently looking at the following setup for my new build, and was wondering which PSU to go for? I've been suggested the OCZ StealthXStream 700w but from what I've read, some PSUs have a problem with my case if they're not Corsair. I was looking at this one as a replacement, Corsair TX 850W ATX . Or if I don't need 850W, Corsair TX 750W ATX.

Build;
Corsair Obsidian 800D
Asus P6T Intel X58
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping
Corsair H50 CPU Watercooler
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB)
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5870 x2 (Crossfire)
LG GH22NS40 22x DVD±RW
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB
Akasa AK-FN057 Apache Super Silent x4

I agree with the above poster than a new Corsair HX PSU would be my personal choice (oh look at that), the 850W will definitely work and give you plenty of headroom in the future, but if you want to keep costs down, then the 750W will do you fine. The TX versions are even cheaper still, but they arn't quite as efficient (and ofcourse non-modular) - so i'd recommend the HXs on that basis.

I would suggest the Corsair HX-850 :) its very efficent and plenty of wattage for future upgrades

HX 850 is probably out of my price range unless the TX models genuinely just won't be enough.

EDIT: Alright, if the HX 750W will do me fine, I'll probably go for that. Thanks for the replies.

I'm pretty certain that it is, but just to make sure, the HX 750W will work with my current list (Crossfire etc)?

Yes mate it should be fine, PSU Calculator is showing 413w so you will be fine :)
Tip: Change the HDD to the Samsung F3 1tb
I personally would change the case to a Coolermaster ATCS 840 as it is cheaper and looks nicer i think, Its just personal though the Obsidian is a great case

Ok no problems, I agree the Corsair is very nice inside and out but its just the cost stopping me at the moment :(
Yeah, it's pretty pricey. I was looking at the Lancool PC-K62 before I decided otherwise, as it looks like a fairly cheap but decent alternative to the Obsidian.

Change the HD to a WD Caviar Black or the F3; drop the 2nd GPU as it is overkill and buy an ssd instead and don't skimp on the psu or else you will regret it.

Sorry about the double post.

I'm looking at just removing the WD 1TB HDD as I already have several spare HDDs lying around (including a 1TB external that I can simply mount internally), and was thinking of replacing it with the Crucial M225 64GB SSD because I'm going to run Windows 7.

EDIT: Nevermind, went for the Intel X25-M 80GB SSD.

Again, sorry for the double/triple post.

Was just wondering if anybody knew whether it was safe to move a case with the Corsair H50 installed, or any watercooling system I guess?

I have a much better building area downstairs, but need to have my PC upstairs and want to know whether it would be safe before starting building it downstairs.
