Apologies if there is already a thread for this.

I downloaded STALKER Complete 2012 1.4 (although it was uploaded in 2009, why is it called 2012?) but are there any other must have mods for STALKER?

Thanks

Just to clarify, I'll be playing the first game since I might as well start with it. Unless that's a silly thing to do, are they all the same game or are they different stories?

Playing through the first as well. Got the complete mod and the game is just gorgeous now. It looks about twice as good and the atmosphere is brilliant.

For first time mod applications I would use the complete. I've played the most recent version of Misery, which was excellent. It's for the more experienced players, and is one I would use after getting to grips with the basics.

Some general pointers :

SOC : Complete mod / Oblivion Lost mod / Lurk 0.9 or 1.1 (1.2 being crafted now) / People Soup (story mode or freeplay - both somewhat buggy but still very, very good)

CS : Complete / Faction Fronts / Faction Wars / (one other I forget being developed - quite a significant one iirc)

COP : Complete / Misery (latest revision being worked on) / SGM 2.1 or 2.2 / ...and probably others I've missed.

I did create a thread about some mods, though I haven't added any more to it yet. Anyhow, here it is:

I was playing last night and noticed that the enemy soldiers don't react to my gunfire unless they're hit by the bullets. Is the AI supposed to be that stupid?

It can be quirky like that on occasion, though I can't say I've had that for a long time (it's a been a quite a while since I've used the complete mod). Might well have been a bug.

Don't get too used to it, at times the A.I. can surprise you, making it one of the best I've seen in games.

Does anybody know the recommended specs for these 'complete' mods? I can't really see any on the official website, I tried googling it. Some people say it runs great on a set up similar to mine and some do not. Have any of you been able to run these mods smoothly on a setup like this:

6GB RAM
i7 920 D0 @ 3.4ghz
GTX 260 SSC 896MB

Would appreciate any feedback at all, cheers.

I played it on an 8800GT and Q6600 and that was fine so you should be fine too, on Clear Sky you will probably need to run DX9 rather than 10 although it does support 10.1 so it might be fine. Call of Pripyat should be fine on DX10.

fine. :p

Hi,

Don't take my word as 100% accurate, but iirc, when I had a gtx260, the frame rate in SOC wasn't good, though in your case the rest of your rig would easily be more than adequate. In my experience, unless running Stalker on a more recent nVidia card (gtx400 +), the performance tended to be better on AMD cards (generation v generation). Let us know how you get on. :)

Opinions a bit mixed on here also it seems =) I think I'll just have to grab these and see what happens, I'm upgrading my graphics card soonish anyway so if things aren't up to par I won't be that disappointed. Cheers for getting back to me lads, appreciate it.
