Hey, getting my new computer tomorrow along with windows 7 professional. I was just wondering what anti-virus is good that you recommend? Ideally I'd prefer if it was free.

Also on the lookout for any other useful tools to show temperatures and what not of my PC. Any ideas?

Any other useful software I should know about? D:

Massive AV thread stickied in this forum, I suggest you go read.

But in summary all of these are popular:

Free: Avira and Microsoft Security Essentials
Paid: NOD32 and Kaspersky

PC temperatures I use CoreTemp for CPU. GPU-Z for graphics card if I care. SpeedFan is another that can do pretty much all the sensors on your motherboard. I hate it though as it usually needs loads of tweaking.

Other useful software.. dunno. What do you need to do? Also look for a thread by jbloggs, I think also stickied, has a massive list of useful utilities. A lot of em do the same thing, so look out for the ones in bold as they tend to be the better choice.
