Recommended starter book/tutorial site for php&MySQL

As above - I haven't really dabbled in the above but would like to. My website is *very* static at the moment (www.sarawallen.com), I would like it to be a little more interactive, maybe move my blog over to it, make it easier for me to post images to it, etc.

W3Schools is very good once you've got some idea of what you are doing but I'd love something step-by-step.

I have some limited C++ and Java knowledge, which might help find me something around my level?

Yeah I've done the whole pre-designed blog etc malarkey but it ends up too much of a pain to make them look the way I'd like, so it'd be nicer to start from scratch
