Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but here goes.

My workplace donates to charity when the employees hit mileage targets on Strava, so I record all of my walks and rides.

I do a lot of walks with my Fox Red Labrador, and he's off lead most of the time, I'm curious as to how far he goes compared to me, is there an easy way to record him on Strava too, without strapping my phone to his collar?!

When you say record him on strava too, you mean record him on strava only. Don't you?

attach a cheap smart watch to a dog collar? I'd remove the straps though if you do that so it doesnt get caught on something..

"I want to look like I give a toss at work but cba doing the running, how do I get my dog to do it?"

You're not fooling anyone champ :D
A previous employer of mine ran a Fitbit walking challenge. A colleague figured out a way to set up a fan to oscillate in such a way that the Fitbit thought that each oscillation was a single step. My colleague then turned the fan on and left it running 24/7 for the duration of the challenge. Suffice to say, no one else came anywhere close to the step count that my colleague had achieved with the fan. :D

The Fitbit was pretty dumb to think that someone would be able to walk 24/7 for days/weeks on end without taking a single break.:D

Buy a tractive, it has a high accuracy mode and a strava integration. Drains the battery but not ridiculously quickly, just more you get used to only needing to charge it once a month except when you use the live mode a lot then you probably want to charge daily.

I meant record him on Strava alongside recording myself on Strava.

The company normally pay up to 40 or 80 miles, I can hit that without cheating, but I can always use the dog in future...

Think I'll hunt out an old smart watch first and try that, then I'll look into Tractive, thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

Loads of cheapies on Aliexpress, dunno if they'll be tough enough to withstand a dog's activities though!
Pretty sure I've got an old one in a drawer somewhere, I was just interested to see how far he goes compared to me, probably triple the distance.
