Recording/Editing software

So just wondering, doesn't matter if free version or paid, which is the best screen recorder software out there to use? and editing programs? I'm pretty new to this, just showing a little interest lately for some gaming footage.

Alright cheers, its basic enough, eventually Id wanna get around to learning, about music sync with the video at certain parts etc haha,

Im not sure how to use the screen capture software..how do i select a certain part of my screen to start recording?

It depends what you are using. I have OBS set for capturing games for streaming and my monitor for desktop capture
