Doing a live DJ set later and wouldn't mind recording it with my MacBook via the iSight camera.

I've taken a look at iMovie, and Quicktime Broadcaster so far.

iMovie seems ok, but dosen't pick up the inbuilt mic. Quicktime Broadcaster does but the sound isn't amazing - gonna have a play about when I get to the venue but 1 idea is to just record the video and then overlap the audio recording (.mp3). The only thing i'm not sure about is syncing them together, it is easy to do this in iMovie?

Any other programs (preferably free) I should be looking at?

Also what resolution should I be recording the video at - got around 30GB of HDD space and it'll probably be just over an hour long. Would like to put it on DVD but the chances are it'll just be banged on YouTube.

Thanks. :)

I would definitely record the audio via the line in on your laptop. and join it with the video after. I would use audacity to record the audio.

Dont really have any experience with video though.

Quicktime Pro > Preferences > Recording > Microphone > Built-in input: Line in

Quicktime Pro > File > New Movie Recording

You're most likely not going to get an hour of uncompressed footage at the iSight's native res on 30gb using QTP though, and it'll only record at 320x240 if you use QT's compression.

In the end I just recorded the video via iSight.

900MB for an 80 min recording at 640x480.

It's saved as a .mov, how can I overlap the mp3 over it and get it in sync? iMovie dosen't want to open .mov's??

Ta :)
