Hi, my dad has bought a LG smart tv and is wishing to use the record function for TV channels, he's bought a 64 gig cruzer blade mem stick which we can't get to work, can anyone offer any advice how to get this working or would he be better off longterm buying a USB Hard drive?

Many thanks

I have a Humax Freesat box that can do USB recording. USB sticks don't work as even the large ones are too small in capacity. I think it needs at least 30gb as a kind of paging file to allow for conversion to whatever file it records in and also to rewind live TV etc. Try using a larger USB hard drive instead.

'You don't have to worry about missing your favorite shows anymore.

With the newly updated version of the LG's popular Time Machine feature, TV programs can be recorded so that you can rewind, pause, or re-watch your favorite shows.'

is it a time machine featured model?

EDIT :Have a look at youtube 'LG Smart TV - Recording Feature Tutorial '
looks like it only works with a normal usb hdd and it may format the hdd from the comments
