Recover data from Formatted drive

Help!
Just received a new WD 2TB drive today. Was getting ready to transfer all the data from my 1tb drive onto it. Clicked the quick format tool on the new drive and clicked yes before I realised it was reading my old drive with all my data on it.

Quickly clicked cancel but not the old drive is not recognised and needs formatted.

What's the best way to recover the data?

If you can get your hands on a hirne disc there are a lot of tools on there. Personally I would scan using FileScavanger for the files I need.

could try Recuva too from the makers of CCleaner

try a program called 'getdataback'. i was recommended this when i tried recovering deleted files and it worked a treat.

Thanks for the replies. Used File Scavenger and worked a treat. Found all the old adata and is recovering as we speak.
