Recover emails

This is going to be a tough one

I use Googlemail ( not Gmail ) and was looking at some photography equipment online, and there was an enquiry button. Clicking these sort of buttons always seems to bring up Outlook Expres, which i dont use.

But Opera (Opera v9) popped its head up and gave an option to open an account. It asked for an email address and password, and mistakenly, i thought this meant my Googlemail account and password., as i dont, and havent, ever used Opera for email.

So i stuck in my mail and password, and " kabooooooom " Opera email opens up and there's 384 emails in there, which in fact, as i checked them out, were exact copies of all Inbox, Starred, Sent, etc in my Google mail account.

So i figured i dont want this, i'll forget Opera mail. So i deleted all messages, and went back to Google....and yup, everything has gone. The lot. All my importantly " starred " ( saved ) messages vanished.

A restore in WIN XP didnt recover them, and looking online for " accidently deleted mail from Google account from Opera mail " just confused google to a certain extent.

If anyone has or knows a fix or where to hunt one down, please post, as i've lost some very important saved mail

Go to the web UI, and check the 'Bin'.

Do you mean Opera mail deleted messages bin ?

Well i just went back to Opera mail and checked in the trash - nothing there, but in received messages, there's 128 of the 384 that were there before. I'd still like to get those other 260+ back. I cant remember exactly every email i had saved in Google, and all were important, but as there was so many, i cant pick put whats missing and what isnt.

So i need to recover all 384 - still need some ideas ?

checked in the archive? Or check the trash on the googlemail website. Not the operamail one.

I think i've got most of them back, thanks to you guys.

The only trouble now is, everytime i get a mail in Google, an enevlope icon pops up on the bottom right taskbar informing me that Opera mail has the same email.

I obviously now cant delete anything from Opera mail, as it now deletes the same mail from Google mail. I'd like to get rid of the Opera mail account, but i dont know how to, without affecting everything in my Google mail account.
