Recover file from network drive

A colleague has accidentally deleted a Word document from the network drive. Any ideas how it can be recovered? It doesn't go to PC recycle bin... do these network drives have a soft delete type process?

How is the drive configured?
recurve in deep scan mode gets most things.
Is it a physical drive, a raid array or what?

It's networked drive in a remote server.

Yea, I'll need to go through IT unfortunately. It's a massive company therefore IT resolutions take days or weeks.

Depending on the backup solution, there may be VSS backups accessible through the “previous versions” tab of the shared folder?

Certainly doable with DPM.

We use this method to provide end users with the ability to recover their own backups for most usage cases.

If you know what drive it was a bit recovery might work.

Even an array drive set up it can partially be recovered. Providing the said file has not been written over due to server usage. If it has you screwed sorry to say.
