Recover help. Text Gobblygook

I have recovered a lot of missing Documents but when i go to open them the pages are all in gobbldygook! Just characters etc. Help!

Recuva is the program i used.

Chances are if you've recovered them and they're nonsense, They've probably been overwritten and are therefore unrecoverable.
