Just been doing a load of work tonight on a worksheet in Excel 2008 for mac and when I was changing one of the options to show what errors it should display on the sheet it crashed.

On trying to reopen the file it said "The File might have been damaged or modified from its original format" and now I can't open it :(

Its a password protected file as it contains some confidential information so I can't send it out anywhere; what can I do to try and retrieve it myself as I really don't want to have to redo all that work again.

Do you have Time Machine running? If so, restore from the backup an hour ago.

Panic over (eventually)

I opened it in the latest office in Windows (2007 iirc) and it came up with the same error but it then gave me the option to recover it - and it worked

*yey*

Three backup files later dispersed throughout my network and *phew*

Just suprised that Excel2008:mac doesn't have this recovery feature as Excel2007:Win; a ploy maybe?
