I have a usb stick which when I plug into any computer you can see the files for a few seconds but then it stops responding at all. So I am trying to the data off the usb stick. Does anyone have any recommendations for what to do? I have already tried chkdsk and that didn't respond at all. Is there any tools to manually get the data off?

You can try using Recuva, but it will need to be able to 'see' the USB stick, so I'm not sure if that'll work. It's a free download though so give it a whirl.
