Recovering deleted files

A friend has asked if I could recover some files that were deleted off club laptop by a disgruntled ex cricket chairman. Could any1 give me some advice and programme links on how to do this?

Check out a program called Recuva.

had a few friends use this a number of times to get data back and it seems to work pretty well. I have not personally used it though.

getdataback is the best imo..

recuva could work

take the drive out of the laptop and don't write to it, use a usb2 caddy in a pc

Yup, I've always found Recuva hit & miss at best, whereas GetDataBack just does what it says on the tin. Not free, but you can run it in demo mode first to see if it will actually, errr, get your data back before deciding whether or not to stump up.
