A member of my family has bought a new PC as his old PC went kapputt. I think it's corrupted a lot of Word documents and some pictures he needs recovering. I've got the HDD sitting next to me and I've tried copying the files over to my HDD but they are unreadable, scrambled text etc.
How can I retrieve the data in a readable format? There are some important documents he needs retrieving and I'm his only hope (unlucky him
)
Any ideas or pieces of software would be helpful, also what is the best way to connect his HDD to my PC.
