Recovering lost information

I loved this story on BBC today. In short, roman scrolls which had been unreadable, due to damage, are now giving up their secrets thanks to modern technology.

It's possible some very important lost works may become available to scholars. There's a long way to go, but this is awesome stuff.

I guess this could have implications for crime investigation/ intelligence gathering, too.
