Recovery options?

Evo's wet itself a little and is leaking gear oil of some form. Brought it straight home and it hasn't moved since. It needs to go on a ramp to have a proper look which means towing the car/flatbed etc.

Are there any RAC/AA recovery options that would allow me to get it towed to a garage of my choice? Don't currently have any cover so I guess I should sort some out.

just hire a recovery service on a one trip basis, I wouldn't start forking out on subscription to the AA.
Usually loads of companies advertise
Just make sure they turn up with a trailer or spec lift that also trolleys the rear wheels.

Might even be able to get a mate of mine to do it actually, just remembered you are close by.

When do you want it lifted and to where?

Hmm, I can get AA cover for me and my GF which covers national recovery for £120 a year. That would cover all three cars on the drive, at the moment only one of them is covered.

Just watch the terms on that because you have already broken down.....

If you join already requiring Relay and the AA is prepared to provide Relay assistance for
the breakdown concerned then
you will need to pay a surcharge for purchasing Relay in a
breakdown situation in addition to the price of the Relay cover.

But you ring up 24 hrs later and go DERP I've broken down... they may start saying that you did and ask for further fees before lifting you. By then they've got you by the balls though as you will have already forked out for the membership.

;)

I don't need to move the car this week, so I'll wait till Saturday or Friday after work. Then I'll push it down the drive and then ring up 'derp help broken Evo, heard a gearbox noise'.

The car's already booked in at TGM a week on Monday for work. :)

Thanks for the offer though Andy.
