Recovery software recommendation

Hi all,

A girl at work has a problem with her external harddisk. I suspect she has formatted it or something like that, although it didn't finish the format as no volumes are recognised.

I ran an older version of Recover my Files which saw all the things she wanted recovering but unfortunately it keeps crashing at the same point with some application related errors. I'm reluctant to get her to shell out for the new version in case the same happens.

So is there any other decent recovery software out there you guys would recommend?

Worth trying Recuvva. I've used it a couple of times with no problems

Thanks guys will give those a go. I also found another thread here from last month which recommends 'GetDataBack' so I've got plenty to try now!
