recruitment agencies

Hi,

I am looking for "good" recrutiment agencies especially ones that special in purchasing and supply in and around North London and Central London...

I realise google is my friend but in this case would really like to hear from people who could recommend agencies either from an employers point of view i.e.used when seeking new recruits or alternatively from a job seekers point of view

What kind of role are you talking about here? Buying, Supply Chain, Logistics? How much experience do you have and in what field, e.g. Retail, Public Sector etc.

Agencies are - unfortunately - sometimes a necessary evil. They'll charge the employer exorbitant 'finders fee' rates as well as a whole range of fees I won't bore you with. If you can approach the organisation direct you'll be (a) in a better position to leverage salary and perks and (b) save them all the fees which allows them to give you (a).

If you have to go Agency then the main culprits will be Hays, Reed, Adecco, Manpower etc. They claim specialism in certain fields but it's nonsense, really. I can PM you details about this if needed as I've dealt with them all recently when awarding a National contract for the provision of temporary staff.

I am looking for buying, stock controller, assistant buyer, logistics assistant manager roles, I have over 5 years experience in all the above roles as you are aware you have to be very versatile in purchasing and sooner or later you pick up the majority of skills to be a good all rounder - which I strongly believe I am, my work experience proves this...

I agree with your comments with regards to recruitment agencies but I have no other alternative or knowledge on how to approach or find firms in my area or around my area who have these positions available...
