Hi guys, I want to build a HTPC and have a few spare parts lying around to get me started.

Could someone spec me a small case that can take three hard drives (one 2.5" SSD for the OS, two 3.5" internals for the storage) and a motherboard with onboard graphics that is socket LGA775 for my E6750 and can take DDR2 RAM? I'm not bothered if the RAM has to be replaced with DDR3 or if I have to dump the OS hard drive and install it on a partition instead (although the storage drives are only 5400rpm, which isn't ideal).

well your E6750 would not work with DDR3 so you have no worries there. How small are you looking, mini-ITX or micro-ATX?

mITX have a look at the zotac 9300, otherwise look at G31/35/41/45 chipsets of which almost all are mATX.

However if you want something very easy maybe have a look at shuttles. I found this: Shuttle SG41J1 Plus XPC for a very good price at a competitors.

I think it not having the E6750 is an oversight on their part, it lists every other C2D\Q that have all sorts of different FSB ranges.

But the 9300 is a nice board, and the built in graphics handles stuff rather nicely, I manage to rinse WoW at 720p res on medium with my lowly e3300 at @20-30fps, playable by all means, and that's through Wine. :)
