Bit of a random question - what's the best way to dispose of an old PC?

I've got half a PC left over from my last build, including a (heavy steel) case, motherboard, etc. A friend of mine says that he might want a few components out of it but there's likely to be a lot leftover. There's no hard-drives so I'm not worried about data theft.

Any ideas?

Erase the hard disk with some software (hint: ultimate boot cd :p) or physically destroy it. The rest of the system can be taken to your local recycling centre.

Advertise them on MM as collection only.

Freecycle them.

Build another PC out of the leftover bits and give it to a family member/sell it.

The proper way to do it would be to WEEE it, try selling it on a popular auction site (as they'll buy anything there!) or dabble in freecycle.
