Hi All

I have fond memories of playing multiplayer red alert 2 against my house mates at uni back in the day.

Is there something more recent that's free (or cheap) ie independent.

Specifically, I want to be able to have a skirmish with a friend. I don't want to play against the whole world, who have hours to play these things, just a half hour blast and then its done.

Any ideas? mobile phone options would be great too!

thanks

Word in Conflict is good as is the Wargame series. Both have huge depth and the scope for 'micro'. But likewise they are both excellent titles to mess about with your mates.

Also World in Conflict also has a really good single player.

C&C Generals is decent.

Grey Goo is the most recent C&C-type. Supposed to be pretty good. I believe it was made by some of the old Westwood guys (?).

I bought it in a bundle on Bundlestars for about £3.50 (not played it yet), but that's finished a couple of days ago. It might be cheap on the keysites now, as some will have bought the bundle to sell on

yeah, pretty cheap:

I used to love C&C games, tried grey goo recently and really didn't like it, only gave it a few hours to be fair but just didn't get on with it.

How about red alert 2 yuris revenge still going strong to this very day.
