Red Faction: Guerrilla - What's the multiplayer like?

What with the offer on at the moment on steam, I'm curious as to what the multiplayer is like on this. Is it any good and is it popular?
 
Its good fun (destroying building together esecially with your teammates ;)) but a new patch is waiting certification from MS as there are some minor issues with unbalanced gameplay & cheaters.

You can still go through the lengthy SP campaign whilst waiting for the patch though so worth getting anyway.
 
I'm worried that if I do get it it might go the way of GTA4, in the sense that no one will be playing.
 
Does nobody here have a problem that when you destroy a building and it is collapsing, your FPS goes to singe digits? And when I run the game, go to task manager and switch priority on rfg.exe to low, the framerate stays in double digits.I hope they will fix this in a patch.
 
Your low frame rates is caused by resolution. Run at as low res as you can stand.

Yes I know this is the case for all games -- but for Red Faction its cumalative. As in, 2550*1600 is unplayable on any rig (including mine and I have 4ghtz processor and 5970 card) - where as 1900 * 1200 is absolutely fine.. not twice as fast updating -- more like 10 times as fast updating!!
 
I think the physics are quite processor intensive, a dual core might not cut it.
What graphics settings are you using, this seemed to work great for me.

Kept the framerate nice and smooth throughout.

Nope you need at least a quad core though anything less will struggle as the physics are very demanding & the destruction graphics are also high polygon count with lots of particle debris & smoke.
