Went to the Chili's show at Portman Road in my hometown of Ipswich last night and I thought they were thoroughly superb!

The gig opened with Can't Stop and then Dani California. To say it was mayhem on the pitch was an understatement! Encore was Under the Bridge (what else) which personally I found really really emotional. Looking around at all the mobiles/lighters being held up and singing along with the rest of the crowd was awesome. Then after Give it away Anthony, Flea, Chad and John left us. Damn them...I wish the gig was still going! I'm feeling on a bit of a low today having come down from the (musical) high's of last night.

Anyone else from OcUK go?

If they're half as good as they were in Ipswich you're in for a treat!

Let me know how it goes!

What was the crowd like because someone I know thinks they're all going to be a bunch of mosha's and emo's but I can't see it really?

To be honest, it was a complete mixture!

There were plenty of people there willing to jump about normally, and some jumping into other people etc! And plenty who wanted to stand and take it all in. And many inbetween (like me!)

Agewise, anything from 14 to about 55!!

Saw them last night in Coventry, and they were indeed on fine form, really got the crowd going (who's effort was put into bottle throwing until that point. We even saw a couple of rather big bottle pits :/). Not checked my pics yet but hoping I got some good ones.

The crowd in Ipswich participated in a spot of bottle throwing too (myself included ;))

When !!! were on a few bottles found themselves flying towards the stage! But less were thrown at the Dirty Pretty Things, and none were lobbed at the Chili's.

I was caught by three direct hits to my head (being tall does have it's down sides!) and I got covered in beer, coke, water and possibly worse! The best was saved for those who got up on other peoples shoulders and actively encouraged people to bottle them. They didn't dissapoint!

A couple of pictures...taken on my mobile so apologies for the quality (I didn't dare take my digital camera in there just in case)

I went and saw them in Cov last night as well and was right on the edge of the last of those bottle pits they were mental!

Didnt throw any myself too busy looking out for ones about to clock me! Saw people with cut elbows, eyes all sorts! I think its going to far when people throw full bottles of beer/coke/urine at people though as they are proper dangerous missiles.

tbh I preferred the chilis when I saw them in Hyde park in 2004 to last night (especially as they didnt play under the bridge :() Still a damn good show though.

Highlight for me was Johns bit of bee gees :)

Blimey, i didn't see many full bottles flying around in Ipswich. We drink our beer first, THEN throw the bottle :)

The Chili's didn't play Under the Bridge @ Coventry?

Nope :( shame as it was a real crowd pleaser at Hyde Park always gets everyone singing.

oh and Anthony was obviously a night behind on his football nicknames as he said "up the tractor boys" :D

That's quality! It's even funnier because I'm an Ipswich fan! heh.

Nice one Anthony :) *bows*

Aye, Portman Road looked awesome when they played it. Everyone was singing along and there was loads of lighters and mobiles out.

Saw them in reading on monday, they were top class think they might even be better live than on CD which is rare these days, Ben Harper rocked too but those loud ass 'ching, ching ching' or whatever that opened were a bag of monkey poo

some pics from reading, apologies for the quality, just got my first digicam and although its 5mp i havent worked it all out yet :(
