Hi all,

Any ideas on my mates new build, the graphics card is the Asus 4080 super tuf.

He is using the corsair rm1000x and connected all three pci connections,

Would other issues with th and build cause the ref led to come on or is this a definite power to gpu issue?

These newer cards can be fussy about bios updates and cables too, so if it works with the onboard outputs you might want to try doing an update and e.g. if using hdmi switch to dp and vice versa.

Asus cards used to have a red led around the GPU PCI-E power to indicate if it was not getting power. If it's that I'd be double checking the PCI-E cables are inserted properly at both ends. Maybe try switching cables and/or ports on the PSU.

Check the craptastic 12v connector on the GPU end. They are very fickle.

I have a 4080 FE on the same PSU and every now and again I get a black screen boot failure. Reinsert the 12v and it works again. I ended up getting one of the Corsair 12v adapters and it has been trouble free ever since.

Thanks for all the comments, latest is he is getting the red cpu led on the motherboard now, it's the msi x870 tomahawk and it only has one bios release, I've asked him to check all the power cables etc on the corsair rm1000x

Hi its got to be power related, it's dam difficult trying to solve when I can only chat as I'm in Scotland he's down South, anyway got it to power on now with two led lighting up on mobo which are cpu and ram and code 15 which is pre memory system agent, the cpu amd ryzen 7 7800x3d mobo is msi x870 tomahawk

I know it's the previous revision Cpu but its compatible with new AMD x870.
