Red light camera Flashed me once BUT the light was GREEN and i WASN'T speeding!!?

So tonight on the way back from work, i passed through the sheffield area through meadowhall backgrounds on the A6109 and the red light camera outside lookers and KIA dealer flashed me as i drove through it at less than 30mph and it was on Green!

I'm quite cautious when it comes to cameras so i always double check everything prior to crossing them. I checked my speed first to make sure i wasn't speeding then looked up twice to make sure the light was green as i was approaching the junction and crossed. As i crossed the damn camera flashed me but only once. I have seen it flash people before while they have gone through on green but unsure if they were speeding or not. Pretty sure it needs to flash you twice though for speeding?


So has anyone else had this happen to them before? I'm quite worried now :(
 
Futhermore i defo know it was on green because traffic waiting to turn on my right was stopped on a red light. Even after a few seconds after i passed the red light camera the traffic to my right was still waiting to turn and the light was still red.. so what the hell :S?
 
They're nasty things mate, the first time it happened to me I was 19 and I was on a right mard for days thinking I'd blemished my license with an SP30. 4 years later and I've never had a mark in my license.

The other day I had a proper adrenaline hit, doing 110mph down the M1 from Dunstable and clocked the blues and twos in my rear view. Cue immediate evacuation of bowels and pulling over to the inside lane ready to be given a telling off. They blasted past me and I got back up to speed at a safe 600 yard distance. Daft really. Especially if you read up on speed camera tolerances in this country. :)
 
First time it happened to me i did get a ticket through the post but i admit i wasn't concentrating and i did go through a red light and i did see it flash me twice as well. Was so gutted that time which is why im so cautious now.

Haha! I've had that experience before as well, when you see those blue lights behind you, your heart skips a beat!

The speed cameras in this country are meant to keep you safe but tbh they give me the exact opposite feeling... i feel like im gonna get a fine no matter what i do lol.
 
Ive just had a phone call from the police, they wanted to know if I had your address as they are keen to send you to Guantanamo
 
That is the very camera that got my girlfriend. She has never driven into Sheffield since as she still to this day swear blinds that it was on green. Think it was about 2 years ago now.

Next time you are near it, pull up and watch how quick it goes from green to red. It is ridiculous.

I find a lot of Sheffield/Rotherham lights switch from green to red way quicker than the lights around Chesterfield.
 
Just an update haha, i know its been ages but 2 weeks gone by and i didn't get a ticket :). I knew i was right!!! Stupid camera >.>
 
Come on! i was shrouded with uncertainty even when you're 100% certain you will always have that inkling of doubt cos you got flashed lol. Just glad i was right
 
Pretty common occurence tbh.

I've been flashed by red light cameras many times, usually when the front of my truck has gone through on green, and its changed to red by the time the end of the trailer has passed the light.

The rig is 54ft long.....

I'm yet to recieve a ticket / summons.......
