I was stranded in no man lands at a junction with a gatso type camera due to a learner stalling.
So i stayed were i was, a good metre after the first stop line it was green when crossed.
So whilst waiting for the next green light an ambulance needed to get through so had to move up a few more metres, am i likely to get a FPN for this?

no

There is. They take two photos, same as a speed camera. Go through one at red doing 43mph in a 30mph zone, and you will get a ticket.;)

Get stranded and you won't.

You shouldn't go through red lights for emergency vehicles especially not if there's a red light cam there.

While that might be true officially, you still feel like an ass if you block the way with an ambulance behind you. Better to safely enter the junction if possible, as other traffic should be stopping anyway with the siren playing.

High unlikely you'll get a FPN, worst case scenario the ambulance should have a dash cam so you could call on that to defend yourself.

If they wanted to stick rigidly to the law then they'll up hold a FPN unless you have been instructed by a constable in uniform to ignore traffic signals.

True but I'd rather take a FPN over having to live with knowing that because I didn't get out of an ambulances way someone died.

If you were clear of the stop line before the light changed you won't get a FPN, even if you moved after the light was red.

I'm not sure what happens at junctions with the advanced lines for bikes, but I'd guess that only the first line is the trigger for the camera.

Yeah right, like I am going trust a constables direction to break the law cause he said it's fine.
