Red Light on X1900XTX

It is the light closest to the power socket, so it would be the one on the right. The card is connected to two molex plugs on different power cables. Since it only came on when the optical drive was plugged back in, I am assuming it is definitely the power.

I think my 450W PSU is struggling with:

Opteron 165 @ 2.7Ghz (no increase in vcore)
2 x 512MB RAM
4 x WD HDDs
1 x DVD-RW

Strange thing is that the card works fine - I was playing UT2004 the other day at maximum settings at 1280x1024 and there was no problem

It must be the supply struggling with adding the new drive its just enough to make it go flaky, have look here to give you a rough idea to see if your supply can handle it:

The one one the left is is a card fault light, the one on the right is an external power problem light.

This is the same on the 2900XT, I think - I had the right hand light on until I figured out the 8-pin, 6-pin conundrum......and that was with a PSU which actually has the native 8-pin !
