Ok, so after months I finally have my new rig up and running at the moment (signature).

I have this RAM:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GB24GB8500C5DC)

And the two sticks are showing two red lights each on them, just wondering if this is normal? I'm guessing not, as red usually equals danger, or death, so meh, lol.

But I'm also not certain if this is because of what I'm running; as I havent got vista 64 yet, I've had to install regular Windows XP Home Edition to see if everything booted etc, and wondered if this is causing the lights, and the fact that in Control Panel > System > General it is showing 3.00 GB of RAM.

All help appreciated as always.

Cheers.

A 32-bit operating system will not pick up all 4GB of RAM, you'll need 64-bit for that so 3GB being shown in the system properties is perfectly normal.

If it's working fine doing what you do (do a Memtest if you're worried about it) then I'm sure it's OK, the red light is probably just an indicator that it's on, or maybe under load?

Craig.

I was expecting the 3 GB thing to be due to the OS, just haven't got the cash for Vista 64 at the moment.

Just was a bit warey of the red lights, incase I was like; frying the sticks or something, lol.

Cheers

Cheers, lol, think all is well at the minute.

Think the OS is holding my GPU back aswell at the minute though, lol, but shall investigate more tomorrow.
