Just bought a DVD with a red lock on it. I couldnt for the life of me figure out how to open it so i had to break the DVD case?

It was threaded through the back of the case under the disk and fixed into the side where you open the case.

did you buy it from the back of a white van by any chance  :p

as said the shop are supposed ot take them off using the weird magnetic thing on the tills i think

Ah ok. I got it from HMV in canterbury. Guy who served me looked like he was half asleep lol.

I was about to tell you not to open it because you'd break the case and possibly damage the DVD if you did - and then I read your post properly. Oh well!

under the disk
It should actually have been over the disk.. oh well ;)

It's called red tag by the way (or at least it is called that where I work). They are a pain in the rear to get off without the tools aren't they? :p

This is what happened/ran through my mind.....

Right then lets watch this DVD.
Hmm whats this red block in the side of the case?
Maybe if I push it in it will open? Nope
Maybe if I give it a good pull it will open? Nope
Right I am gonna rip this **** open with my bare hands!!!!!
(SNAP)
Oh crap - lucky I have some spare cases!
Damn it still wont open!
Ahah the scissors should sort it out.

5 minutes later I managed to force the thing open and watch the DVD!

But I think that person who served me did it on purpose. Maybe every 5th customer he just shoves a DVD in the bag complete with red lock thingie lol. :D

haha, awesome

i can just imagine some guy who's sat there for 8 hours a day getting his kicks picturing some poor soul sat at home wondering how to get the dvd out :p
