tried the last free weekend of RO and thought it was a below avg fps
altho it does have its good bits, i prefer DoD : S

Must admit im really getting into DOD:S atm. Especially those Orange Arena Maps.

-MCG- Indoor Arena is a fantastic server will moded. Although its American the pings are low and it has though maps in rotation 24/7

I'm looking forward to playing it again. Much better than DoD:S imo. I was very tempted to buy it the first time, but the fact is that I would have to put too much time into it to be particularly good.

Definitely worth playing. Don't go in with any preconceived judgements or base it on other games, just know that it takes time to get used to and treat it as its own game :).

Tanking is enjoyable once you know what you're doing, but I am always put off by the fact that some people will never let anyone else in their tank and tell you to get out as soon as you get in. This is another reason I was put off. Most of the community is friendly but some have a certain attitude. Look for people with the TT tag if you want to get in a tank with someone... and don't just get in somone's tank and drive off as they could be lining up a shot as you do so ;).

Communication is the most important thing in Team Tanking (and in a lot of the game), so set up the binds for the tank directions etc. or get a mic.

Ive done a few reformats and been able to reinstall HL2 & CSS no probs. I would assume Ostfront is the same

It's a great game!

Totally different kettle of fish from DoD as it's not a run around a tiny area blasting everything game. You actually need to use some decent tactics to get anywhere. The maps have CP's but it's more like BF2 in gameplay. However it's breakthrough as opposed to conquest so no round robins with the bases.

It's realism based so no cross hairs and it's often 1 hit kills but this is one of the things that keep a lot of the kids out of the game as they can't handle that. :D

The attention to detail on the graphics is excellent as well. Much higher res textures and far more detail than say BF2. They are often on a par with the source engine.
