red pixels in adobe raw

I've just transferred all my holiday snaps onto my PC. During the preview transfer saw no fault in images, even in the thumbnail preview on windows I can't see anything, but in adobe camera raw some images are plagued by huge spots of red pixels. Also looking at them on the camera no faults.

What's happened?

Camera is a 550D and used the EOS software to get them into dated folders.

hi i think these are parts of the image where the software deems the exposure is too high and is burning out fine details of that part of the image. it is a suggestion to change the exposure on the raw file.

You've got highlight clipping warning on, in Camera raw press o to turn it off if you don't want to see it.
