Hi,

I have my CPU/GPU overclocked to what I thought was stable but today I have ended up having 3 red screen crashes.

Is there anyway to see what the red screen is caused by?

Thanks

Its weird I have never had it before, and today its happened 3 times over 2 games..

Maybe its some sort of windows update?

I ran firestrike again and it passed no problem so overclocks seem to be ok.

AMD branded crash?

On a serious note I had the red screen when the memory couldn't cope with it's clock speed, (factory overclock) on an RX 480.

One of the limitations of benchmarks is that they are very sequential. Gaming introduces a ton of real-time variants, including your own on-the-fly input which is lacking in benchmarks, not to mention the additional input in multiplayer games.

For example, my GTX 970 can bench @ 1565MHz clock/8000MHz mem, but when gaming I started going down bit by bit to eliminate sporadic crashes. It was fairly good at 1525MHz but still the odd crash now and then, so settled at 1500MHz clock (and tweaked mem down to 7800MHz just to make sure) and no issues for over a year.

So there's benchmark overclocking stability, but then you usually have to lower a bit to find stability across all games.
