Red Screen on Startup

Hey guys,

I been breaking my brain trying to work this one out myself for the last 5 hours but i just can't do it.

I was trying to fix the 1:1 pixel mapping on my hdtv which is connected to my computer. I used a program to change my display settings to try fix the problem. However, I changed the refresh clock speed from 741mhz or something down to 600 and the screen went blank. I was hoping for the 15 second timeout to be over and then it would revert, but it didn't happen. I shut the computer down and restarted. When i began to start up the screen was red in colour during initial boot and the windows logo. When it got to loading windows the screen just went blank again.

No matter what i do i cannot find a work around! When i start up in safe mode the screen still remains red the entire time.

I tried to uninstall graphics drivers in safe mode and then boot up normal and reinstall but as soon as they are installed the screen just goes black at windows startup, instead of red when there are no drivers.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i'm well beyond the pulling my hair out stage.

Cheers!

Have you also tried switching the tv off and on too? It could be having a red sulk after being sent an out-of-spec signal? Maybe try with a different monitor, and if you're using HDMI/DVI then try analogue VGA connection instead - it might allow you to undo things (e.g. registry entries that survive a driver uninstall).
All shots in the dark, I'm afraid, but good luck!
