Hello all,

Just now I turned on the PC loaded into windows fine as usual, then I tried to load up Speed Fan to make the machine quieter "Damn Fans", but the screen went complete red and frooze on me!!

This is the first time i've ever seen that, What could the problem be for if it does it again?

Many Thanks

Might be just one of those things. Colour tinged screen says GPU/GPU driver issue or less likely cable (which wouldn't lock up your PC). If it keeps happening then investigate further but until then I'd just make sure you have backed up anything you might need document wise and forget about it

Red Screen Of Hell?

Did the pc restart? you say it froze, how do you know if it wasn't displaying? Playing any music/video where the sound froze at the time?

Check hdmi/displayport/dvi/vga cables are securely plugged in if it turns out screen changed but pc didn't actually freeze.

Check GPU is plugged in securely to its socket, it has power if required.
If you find a way to recreate it, try doing it with onboard graphics if you have it, or with a different card if applicable.

Or.. if it never happens again put it out your mind.

Nope I had to manually restart the PC, no music or anything :S

I'll check all cables shortly and make sure the GPU is seated correctly, but odd how it's first time i've even seen this..

HDDs / fans can vibrations can sometimes be amplified by cases, over time it's not unreasonable that something could have moved very slightly and caused an intermittent connection somewhere.
