red washers for mobo

Noob question alert!!

Guys tried a search but obviously nobody is as stupid as me as I can't find anyone else asking it....

I'm about to fit my new mobo into my new case and have come across some small red washers, can you tell me if these are supposed to go between mobo and the supporting pins or just on the fixing screws on the top of the mobo itself??

Sorry for such a dumb question but can't find instructions for them anywhere

They go between the screws and the mobo.

They should be between the screw and the motherboard, they are designed to stop the screw shorting out tracks on the motherboard. I think all motherboards today are designed so this can't happen anyway, some people don't bother with them.
